Sometimes I lie awake at night
Wanting sleep to no avail
A thousand sounds, a thousand thoughts
Running through my mind.

Sometimes I pray for silence
To drowned out the noise
Clawing at the blankets
Trying to escape.

Sometimes I just lay there
And take a deep slow breathe
Thinking the noise will never end
I'll take it to my grave.

Sometimes I want to weep
When the battle grows long
I hang my weary head
and pray for sleep to come.

Sometimes I dream of silence
So quiet and so strong
I feel I can almost touch it
Maybe tomorrow it won't be just.....

A dream.
