When I was a child
I lived in a land of lakes
scattered across the countryside
like sapphires scattered across a marble floor.
The summers where long and hot
filled with more fun than a kid could dream
it was just short of heaven
at the time that's how it seemed.
days where filled with swimming
and dashing off on bikes
it didn't matter what went wrong
cause everything seemed right.
In this land of adventure
we could fish all day
and play games all night
and never worry a minute.
Times spent with friends and family
enriched me every day
lessons taught and lessons learned
I knew I'd never be the same.
Those summers where a special time
that I shall not forget.
Those summer days and cold spring lakes
in the land that I called home.
